Transportation:
All participants must be transported by school bus, except for very small groups which can be legally transported in private cars, provided such private cars are driven by a person approved by the administration. In the latter case, each car must be insured in an amount of $100,000 to $300,000. Drivers will be reimbursed at the current rate per mile set by the School Board and Directors.
If transportation is provided, all team members will ride the bus to and from the game.
Exceptions:
A. A parent/guardian who attends the event and wishes their child to return home with them. These requests must be submitted in writing via a note or email and approved directly with the coach and/or athletic director or administration. A parent / guardian may submit a note at the start of (each) season indicating they will be transporting their student after games.
B. A student may ride home with another student’s parent/guardian but only with written permission from their own parent/guardian.
C. In very special circumstances, students may travel to an event or may return home by other means. This may only occur if a permission note from the parent/guardian is received prior to the event. These requests must be approved by the coach, activity coordinator, and or the athletic director at least 24 hours before the event.
The prohibition of the administration against substance abuse and smoking will be in force at all times on all vehicles provided by the school for the transportation of teams or individuals.
Any non-team member who wishes to ride a team bus must get prior approval of the Athletic Director or other administration.
Under no circumstances may a student athlete transport another student athlete to or from an away contest.
