Welcome to the Social Studies Department!
At Bellows Falls Union High School, our Social Studies Department is dedicated to cultivating informed, engaged, and thoughtful citizens. Through a diverse curriculum, we encourage students to explore historical events, understand cultural dynamics, and analyze societal structures, preparing them for active participation in a global society.
Course Offerings:
- World History: A comprehensive study of global civilizations, their interactions, and the events that have shaped the modern world.
- U.S. History: An in-depth examination of the United States' past, focusing on political, social, and economic developments.
- Civics and Government: An exploration of governmental structures, political processes, and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
- Economics: An introduction to economic principles, including market dynamics, fiscal policies, and the global economy.
- Psychology: A study of human behavior and mental processes, covering topics such as development, cognition, and social interactions.
- Sociology: An analysis of societal structures, cultural norms, and the factors influencing human interactions.
