Cell Phone Survey: Please Respond!
Dear WNESU Families,
Our district values your feedback! Given the ongoing local, state, and federal conversations about student cell phone usage in schools, we are committed to learning how students’ cell phone use impacts their school experience. Proponents of cell phones in schools have highlighted their potential as educational tools and a means to increase student safety. Others have raised concerns about their potential to distract from students’ educational experiences, disrupt classrooms, impact student well-being, and contribute to bullying.
During the month of February 2025, in partnership with Panorama, we will be asking families, students, and school staff of students in Grades 5-12 to take a brief survey to tell us about their individual experiences and opinions on our cell phone policies. Panorama’s research-backed Cell Phone Impact and Policy Survey questions are designed to help us gather feedback from our school communities about the impact of cell phones on learning. These questions will also assess how well cell phone policies are being implemented and their overall effectiveness. Our goal is to use this survey data to uncover trends within the school community, inform the development and implementation of cell phone policies, and foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
To access the Family Cell Phone survey, you can go to Bellows Falls Union High School Family Cell Phone Survey link. This will give you access to the survey for your child’s school site. Another way to access the survey is to use your phone camera to scan this QR code (see photo below) This will take you directly to your school’s survey:
The Family Cell Phone survey will begin on Friday, February 7th and close on Saturday, February 15th
We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the Family Cell Phone survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact me at the WNESU Central Office.
Thank you,
Superintendent Andy Haas
