May student of the Month

It is a pleasure to announce that Bethany Parish has been named the May Elks Student of the Month for Bellows Falls Union High School. Bethany, a senior, is the daughter of Marc and Melissa Parish of Bellows Falls, Vermont.

Bethany has distinguished herself this year through outstanding academic effort, consistently engaging with course material in a thoughtful and enthusiastic manner. Her teachers describe her as a student who arrives prepared, asks insightful questions, and contributes meaningfully to class discussions and projects. She actively seeks help when needed and generously offers support to classmates, showing both leadership and humility. Bethany approaches her studies with a strong and steady work ethic and takes full responsibility for her learning-owning mistakes and working diligently to correct them.

Bethany's positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills further set her apart. Described as a pleasure to have in class, she consistently goes out of her way to support those around her, embodying a quiet, mature confidence that uplifts her peers and contributes to a positive classroom environment.

Bethany is a reliable and active learner who consistently comes to school ready to participate and give her best.

Her contributions to school life are equally commendable. Bethany is seen as a role model among her classmates and is deeply involved in supporting the school's library operations. What began as a way to fulfill community service hours has evolved into an ongoing commitment-organizing shelves, assisting with book processing, and maintaining a quiet, focused presence in the library. She is also one of the students who helps care for the school's saltwater fish tank and its living creatures. Her many selfless acts of kindness do not go unnoticed.

Beyond the school walls, Bethany makes meaningful contributions to the community, working at a local after-school program where she continues to demonstrate her dedication to helping others and being a positive influence.

BFUHS and the Elks are honored to have Bethany represent us as a Student of the Month.
